The 2022 Canoe Kayak Canada National Sprint Championships is a volunteer run event. Traditionally, clubs and parents across Canada have volunteered their time during the competition to help the week run and be successful.

We will need help from August 22 to 28. While powerboat drivers are always needed, we also strive to ensure that our athletes can enter the facility as quickly and safely as possible. Ideally, we need people who are flexible in volunteering and willing to join our “EVENT CREW” team who will handle the logistics – including athlete check-in and traffic for the morning and afternoon race sessions. .

Volunteering is fun and a great way to get closer to the action on the water or on land while ensuring a successful event

Half-day volunteer shifts are available in the morning or afternoon. In return for your help, we guarantee that if you have an athlete racing, you can stop whatever you are doing to watch your paddler.

We’ll also provide you with food from some of the best local sandwich shops in Shawinigan, a free parking spot and, if all goes well, a pretty cool reusable t-shirt that won’t have the word “VOLUNTEER” on the back.

In order to offer the most secure environment to our athletes, we are invested into the Safe Sport program initiative.  For Volunteers, it means confirming that you read that program statement.
