The 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships are returning to Regina for the fifth time, bringing up to 1,000 of the country’s top athletes to the Queen City for a full week of thrilling competition.

This national event features club-based racing, meaning you’ll see the next generation of Olympians competing alongside current members of Canada’s national and Olympic teams—representing the clubs where their paddling journeys began.

Spectator Information

The 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships is a free, public event — everyone is welcome to come experience the excitement!

Best Viewing Areas

The prime location to watch the races is from the south shore of Wascana Lake, especially in the Pine Island area. Spectators have full access to Pine Island, offering fantastic vantage points from both the deck and the escarpment. The finish line is located right beside the Finish Line Tower on the island, giving you a front-row seat to the action.

You can also enjoy the races from the Nationals Beer Tent, open daily and located at the base of the racecourse. It’s the perfect spot to catch the excitement as athletes cross the finish line.

For a broader experience, races can be viewed from nearly anywhere in Wascana Park:

  • The 1000m start line is at the north end of the lake, between the Bandshell and Willow Island.
  • The 500m start line is located nearly opposite the lookout on the east side of the lake.
  • The 200m start line is near the marina area, close to the southern part of the lake.
