CanMas is the Masters racing portion of the Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships, held each year at the conclusion of Nationals. It brings together Masters athletes – aged 25 and up -from across the country for a great day of racing and a weekend of fun.
Open to paddlers of all skill levels, CanMas celebrates lifelong participation in canoe kayak. Whether you’re a former high-performance athlete, a club coach, or someone who discovered paddling later in life, CanMas offers a fun, inclusive, and competitive atmosphere.
Athletes compete in age group categories across a range of sprint distances, with races in both canoe and kayak disciplines. But beyond the racing, CanMas is about reconnecting with friends, cheering on your club, and being part of the broader Canadian paddling community.
CanMas wraps up the Nationals week with high energy and the kind of sportsmanship and camaraderie that make it a highlight of the season.
Plan to come to Regina this year for a memorable competitive experience.
Events
CanMas Meet & Greet
Join us for the CanMas Meet & Greet on August 30th at the Nationals Beer Tent. This is a fantastic opportunity for CanMas competitors to connect with one another while still catching all the action of the thrilling races on the final day of competition at the National Championships.
The CanMas Meet & Greet is free to attend for all. Food tickets are available for purchase and open to anyone attending—whether you’re a CanMas participant or just joining in the fun.
During the CanMas Meet & Greet, the CKC Alumni Council will also be hosting a Silent Auction open to everyone. All proceeds will support the Alumni Supporting Athletes Program (ASAP), an initiative that helps non-carded athletes—including Junior/U23 Worlds and Olympic Hopes, paracanoe and Special O paddlers—access financial support for international competition opportunities.
CanMas Dinner
The CanMas Dinner, hosted at Bar Willow Eatery, is the perfect way to cap off the day for all participants. Located on the north shore of Wascana Lake, Bar Willow offers a relaxed dining experience with the best view in Regina. Known for its excellent food and vibrant atmosphere, it’s the ideal spot to unwind, celebrate, and connect with fellow paddlers after a great day of racing.
This year’s dinner features an all-you-can-eat taco bar! The evening will also include the CanMas Awards Program, where we’ll recognize outstanding performances and celebrate the spirit of masters paddling. It’s a night not to be missed.
